"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another”

Proverbs 27:17 is probably one of most commonly used verses for Men’s Ministries around the world. We too have adopted this widely used verse for the Men’s Ministry here at West Highland. This isn’t a vain effort to follow the crowd or be like everyone else, but simply put, this verse gives a snapshot as to how we, as Men, can sharpen & hone one another in order to become the men that God has called us to be in every area of our lives. Proverbs 27:17 also makes a clear, bold statement that "Men Need Other Men” in order to become effective Christians!

Knowing that "Men Need Other Men” raises the question…"How do we sharpen one another?” so that we can become the men that God called us to be? Although there are many different ways to do this, we have crafted a Vision Statement that embodies in a general, yet very specific way, how we plan to do this…

Word of God, the Power of Prayer, Fellowship & Community”

Using Proverbs 27:17 as the foundation of Men’s Ministry at West Highland, and the Vision Statement as the framework, we believe that the Men of West Highland will be inspired to rise up and become who God has called each one to be.
